Leaked software roadmap reveals BlackBerry 7 OS

Earlier this year, leaks revealed a number of upcoming BlackBerry devices (including the Torch 2, Monaco and Montana and the Dakota and Apollo). Now, a BlackBerry software map has leaked showing what RIM has in store for this year. Most interesting is a reference to the BlackBerry 7 operating system in late 2011. It would appear that BlackBerry 7 core integration will begin in November. Whether this is the first step in the BlackBerry smartphone consolidation on the QNX platform remains to be seen.

Also on tap this year are a number of new application as well as updates to existing ones. Listed on the roadmap are Facebook, Twitter, BB News, App World for PlayBook (in March), and BB Protect (first announced in July 2010).
