RBC analyst Mike Abramsky has weighed into the iPhone4S/iPhone 5 rumour mill with his own predictions. According to his latest research note, Apple will not release an entry-level iPhone this year but could do so in 2012. This contradicts an earlier report that Apple would unveil both it and the iPhone 5 this year.
Abramsky instead expects Apple to reduce the price of the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 to US$0 and US$99 respectively with the new iPhone 5 to come in at the traditional US$199/US$299 price point. The iPhone 3GS could also be sold for US$399 unlocked.
It’s not clear if Abramsky’s iPhone 5 is the slightly upgraded iPhone 4 version (also known as the iPhone 4S) or a radically upgraded design.
