A new partnership between HTC and DropBox will see owners of HTC’s latest Android handsets get an additional 3GB of cloud storage from the cloud storage provider. The 3GB will be on top of the 2GB provided for free by DropBox to all its customers for a total of 5GB.
The offer will be available to existing HTC Sense 3.5 devices (like the HTC Sensation XE and HTC Rhyme) as well as future ones. It’s unclear if it will be extended to older devices. It is also unlikely to be offered to Windows Phone 7 HTC devices given that Microsoft already offers its own SkyDrive service with 25GB of storage.
The offer is set to start in October.
Oddly, I have found no official press release about this partnership. Maybe it will be formally announced in the near future.
