Google has indicated that Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) is designed for tablet devices but one device manufacturer may have missed the memo. Leaked details about a new HTC smartphone codenamed Revolver (possibly headed to AT&T) suggests that it could run the tablet OS.
Having taken a healthy pinch of salt and assuming for a moment that the rumour is true, could HTC be looking to use its HTC Sense interface to address some of the limitations of a smaller display? Or could it be that the Revolver will instead use the next version of Android (Ice Cream?)?
Other specifications of the HTC Revolver suggest it will be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It will come with 3G+ connectivity, a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, a rear-facing 8MP camera, and a front-facing 3Mp camera.
Let’s leave this one squarely in the rumours department until new details emerge…
