HTC today announced a new device, the HTC Merge (aka the HTC Lexikon?), for a number of North American carriers. It is HTC’s first Android-based CDMA world phone.
“HTC prides itself on creating unique solutions that meet the needs of different customers, and with features like a full keyboard and global 3G roaming, the HTC Merge smartphone is the perfect example of this commitment,” said Jason Mackenzie, president, HTC Americas.
HTC Merge specifications:
- Operating system: Google Android 2.2 with HTC Sense
- Connectivity: GSM and CDMA
- Other connectivity: GPS, Wi-Fi
- Display: 3.8-inch touchscreen
- Input: QWERTY slide-out keyboard
- Camera: 5MP with auto-focus, flash, and 720p HD video capture
The HTC Merge will be available from multiple North American operators (including Verizon?) starting in spring 2011. Pricing was not disclosed.
