If you’re finding the recent dual-core smartphones a bit too slow for your liking, the HTC Edge could well be what you’re looking for. According to a PocketNow “reliable source,” it will be HTC’s (and possibly the world’s) first quad-core smartphone. Here’s a look at the rumoured specifications:
- Processor: 1.5GHz Quad-core Nvidia AP30 Tegra 3
- Cellular connectivity: 21Mbps HSDPA
- Other connectivity: Bluetooth 4.0
- Display: 4.7-inch HD (720 x 1280)
- Memory: 1GB RAM
- Storage: 32GB
- Rear-facing camera: 8MP with f/2.2 lens
- Dimensions / weight: Just over 10 millimeters thick
- Other: Beats Audio
The HTC Edge could also see some new and improved HTC content services such as the HTC Listen music store, HTC Read bookstore, HTC Play gaming hub, and HTC Watch movie (with HD content). It could also sport the new HTC Sense 4.0 (along with Android 4.0?).
The HTC Edge appears set to succeed the HTC Rezound (aka Vigor) with the key upgrade being that quad-core processor. It could launch in late Q1 or early Q2 2012. There is no information on pricing.
