HP this week announced a CA$50 rebate on the purchase of the 32GB TouchPad. But there is a catch: The offer is limited to people who already own a webOS smartphone.

We appreciate your support — as customers, as champions, and even occasionally as our most thoughtful critics — and we’d like to make it just a little easier for you to experience the latest version of the power of HP webOS.
The $50 rebate is valid until July 31st on the 32GB model only and applies to both Canada and the US. Proof of ownership of a Palm Pre, Pre Plus, Pixi, or Pixi Plus will be required. It looks like owners of newer devices such as the Pre 2 or the Veer are not eligible though. You should have further details of the offer in your inbox.
The HP TouchPad will be available in the US on July 1st and in Canada on July 15th. The 16GB model will sell for US$499 (CA$519.99) while the 32GB one will sell for US$599.99 (CA$619.99).
