Just over a week ago, HP announced that it was getting out of the webOS device business. Perhaps to soften the blow a bit to its HP TouchPad users, HP yesterday announced that it is offering them six free applications. The applications normally sell for as much as US$14.99 but are now free for a limited time. The apps are:
- Glimpse (injoj55410gavxv): Amp up your TouchPad multitasking to 11 using this customizable and addictive split-screen interface.
- Kung Fu Panda 2 Storybook (eotss76676jjzqr): Enjoy images and voices from Kung Fu Panda 2 right on your TouchPad.
- Big Boss (vfimk09918lngoz): Design your “ Big Boss Boss” – a gigantic monster – and attempt to defeat the brave heroes and powerful wizards of WackyLands.
- Sparkle HD (pweuq32135vrbhx): Save Crowberry Woods in this TouchPad version of the popular desktop game.
- Camera for TouchPad (rijon62171nhvtu): Start snapping away, with options for managing your photos and using them with other TouchPad apps.
- Audubon Birds (jjiox66488ddnik): This searchable digital field guide to North American birds offers stunning photography and thrilling (trilling?) bird songs.
Note: The promotion codes (in brackets next to each app name) are only valid in the US. Promo codes for other countries where the HP Touchpad was offered should be available soon.
HP is also promising to offer another 6-Pack of apps in early September.
just got the touchpad today . The software is great . True multitasking, like the fonts, buttons, there are actually decent selection of apps I thought there would be less.the finish is nice similar to iphone3gs. Can be a bit heavy. Photos render nice too. Maybe a comeback is possible. Ios and android apps appear to be saturated with apps anyways.
