There is a small surprise for HP TouchPad owners today. Hewlett-Packard has released webOS 3.0.4 for its discontinued tablet. According to Ari Jaaksi who heads up webOS and services at HP: “We have a big number of TouchPads out there, and we wanted to continue serving users and developers.”
As the new version number implies, it is not a major update but nonetheless brings a number of welcome enhancements and bug fixes. Among these are:
- A new camera app
- App catalog search improvements
- Improved messaging
- Connectivity with non-HP phones now possible
- Support for OGG Vorbis music files
- User interface improvements
- See the change log for a complete list of changes
The webOS 3.0.4 update is available worldwide. To trigger the download, check under Settings > System Updates.
