A report from the Taiwan Economic News suggests that Hewlett-Packard could launch a second webOS tablet, this one with a 7-inch display, as early as August. This is likely none other than the tablet codenamed Opal.
According to an unnamed subcontractor, Inventec, which is manufacturing the HP TouchPad, has also received orders for this second tablet. Between the two models, it will supply HP with up to 450,000 units a month. In all, HP could order up to three million tablets from Inventec this year alone.
In a sign that HP is getting ready for the launch of Opal, the codename earlier appeared on compatibility lists for some featured apps.
