Shortly after the Google Nexus S was announced, Samsung confirmed that it would be coming to Canada. Unfortunately, there were few details until now.
In an interview with The Financial Post, Paul Brannen, vice president of wireless communications for Samsung Electronics Canada, confirmed that pretty much every Canadian carrier will offer the Nexus S. “It’s imperative – and I think Google has taken the right approach – to get this device out into the marketplace at as many points of distribution as possible,” said Brannen. Among the carriers expected to offer it are Bell Mobility, Mobilicity, Rogers Wireless, TELUS Mobility, Videotron, and WIND Mobile.
Launch details have not been announced by any carriers but Samsung will begin shipping the device to Canada later this month and expects sales to begin in early April. Canadian pricing is expected to match US pricing – expect CA$200 with a three-year contract or CA$530 with no contract.
