Samsung and Google were widely expected to unveil both the Google Nexus Prime and the next version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, today but the event was canceled just days ago. A new date has not been announced but the launch appears to be imminent. In an interview with T3.com, Andrew Glass, Samsung UK’s Sales Director, said, “You will have an announcement of the Nexus Prime very shortly and will be seeing it in shops sooner than you think.”
Glass also appears to have confirmed that the device will be known as the Nexus Prime rather than the Galaxy Nexus as some rumours suggested.
A separate rumour suggests that Verizon could launch the Nexus Prime (as the Verizon DROID RAZR?) as early as November 3rd.
