Galaxy Nexus coming to Verizon “later this year”

Galaxy Nexus by SamsungVerizon Wireless yesterday confirmed that it will offer the Galaxy Nexus by Samsung, the world’s first smartphone to run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) “later this year.” It will offer download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in LTE mobile broadband coverage areas.

Verizon did not provide specific availability or pricing details. It did indicate that customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan beginning at US$39.99 per month and a smartphone data package starting at $30 per month for 2 GB of data.
