A report in India’s Daily News & Analysis suggests that Nokia will release its first Windows Phone 7 smartphone about a year from now. D Shivakumar, Nokia’s India Managing Director, made the statement during an interview about Nokia’s recent deal with Microsoft. This appears to put to rest suggestions that Nokia was looking to have its first Windows Phone 7 device out by the end of the year.
In the meantime, Nokia will release up to 50 new cellphone models in 2011, including about 20 smartphone models powered by Symbian.
