BGR has landed some information about HTC’s 2012 smartphone roadmap, including some details about new flagship devices. Overall, HTC plans to release fewer devices next year with a greater emphasis on quality. Its first quarter is expected to be somewhat quieter but still promises some exciting devices.
First up will be a new HTC Titan-like smartphone for AT&T sporting a 4.7-inch display and 4G LTE (possibly the first Windows Phone to support LTE if Nokia does not beat it to the punch). After its possible announcement at CES, it could be available as early as February 5th.
HTC’s flagship device for the first half of 2012 will be the HTC Elite. The HTC Edge and HTC Ville will launch alongside. Little is known about the HTC Elite at this point but it will likely run Android 4.0 and sport Beats Audio. AT&T could offer it as the HTC Congressional (really????) with a launch as early as the first half of April. If the quad-core HTC Edge is not to be HTC’s flagship, it suggests even more impressive specs for the HTC Elite (assuming all these rumours are correct in the first place).
