The dual-core smartphone market will get more crowded later this year. Digitimes reports that more manufacturers will offer such devices in the coming months.
Supporting earlier rumours, Digitimes indicates that HTC will likely unveil the HTC Sensation (codename Pyramid) at next week’s London press event. Industry sources also suggest that the next iPhone will also sport a dual-core processor. Research In Motion is also likely to announce a dual-core BlackBerry in the second half of the year.
It also appears that the Samsung Galaxy S II will come in two versions, one powered by the Samsung Exynos 4210 dual-core processor (codenamed Orion) and one powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor.
It’s only a matter of time before we see tri-core processors (such as the upcoming 1.5GHz tri-core Marvell ARMADA 628) making their way into smarthones.
