BGR has learned that the Home button on the Apple iPhone and iPad could disappear on future versions. BGR’s source is not certain that this will happen (and if so when) but suggests that it could happen as early as the next versions of both devices. The introduction of new multitouch gestures (supporting up to 5 finger gestures) in iOS 4.3 has apparently got Apple thinking that the hardware button is no longer necessary.
Testing is far enough that some Apple employees already have iPads and iPhones with no home buttons.
BGR has also learned that Photo Booth could appear on the next iPad. Some iLife apps for iOS could also be unveiled around the same time.
