On the heels of this morning’s news that HP had begun to push out an update to the HP TouchPad comes confirmation from HP itself as well as additional details and a version number: 3.0.2.
This update brings performance and reliability enhancements, and also adds improved functionality to several core webOS apps. Many of these updates came about as a result of direct feedback from our customers, which we always appreciate.
Among the “hundreds of improvements included in the update” are the following:
- New apps: Calculator and Clock
- Email app: Faster scrolling, improved image rendering, improved multiple email management in Draft and Outbox views
- Calendar: Quicker Just Type event search and event creation
- Wallpaper: Can use photos in the Photos app
- Web: Increased scrolling support compatibility, improved remote HTML5 video playback
The update also fixes issues with oversensitive screen rotation and includes fixes for a number of security issues.
The webOS 3.0.2 update is available worldwide.
