CES 2011: Android-powered Dell Venue coming to US

Dell announced at CES that it will offer the Android-powered Dell Venue in the US in the coming weeks. With no carrier onboard to offer it, Dell will offer it unlocked on its website.

Dell Venue specifications:

  • Operating system: Google Android 2.2 with Dell Stage UI
  • Connectivity: Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA
  • Other connectivity: A-GPS, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.3+EDR
  • Display: 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with Gorilla Glass
  • Memory: 512MB RAM, 1GB ROM
  • Storage: microSD cards up to 32GB
  • Camera: 8MP with auto-focus and LED flash
  • Battery: 1400mAh
  • Connectors: Micro-USB, 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Dimensions / weight: 121 x 64 x 12.9 millimeters / 164 grams
  • Other: FM radio

Dell’s website indicates that two models could be offered. The first one would offer WCDMA support for the 850/1900/2100MHz bands while the second would offer support for the 900/AWS/2100 bands.

Dell has not provided price or a specific release date at this point.
