Citing “two people familiar with the plans,” Bloomberg is the latest to report that Apple will launch the Apple iPhone 5 in September. Bloomberg adds that the new smartphone will sport a faster A5 processor and an 8MP camera and would closely resemble the current iPhone 4. The report goes against one from BGR.com yesterday that suggests a late August launch for a radically redesigned iPhone.
Bloomberg also adds that Apple has nearly completed the design of a cheaper iPhone model designed for developing countries. It will use many of the components already found in the iPhone 4.
Lastly, Bloomberg also indicates that the next iPad will feature a display with a resolution about a third higher than that of the iPad 2. It will also feature a more responsive touchscreen.
If this is not cloudy enough for you, you can also add in a report from Oppenheimer & Co. analyst Ittai Kidron who thinks that Apple will not launch its next iPhone until late September or October.
