Just ahead of today’s Research In Motion’s annual stockholder meeting, there is news for RIM to cheer about. The BlackBerry App World, now available in over 100 countries, has now topped one billion downloads and is seeing an average of 3 million downloads per day.
While this is a worthy accomplishment, RIM still has ways to go if it wants to catch up with Apple with 15 billion app downloads recently announced and Google with 3 billion announced back in April (and over 4.5 billion as of last month).
The BlackBerry App World 3.0 beta is set to start later this month and promises to further improve the experience for both our developers and consumers.
