AT&T today announced that it will launch three new Windows Phone 7.5 smartphones, two from Samsung and one from HTC, in the fourth quarter. It also announced plans to update all existing Windows Phones.
“Our customers love Windows Phones which is why we’ve sold more of them than anyone else,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “We’re taking our leadership to a whole new level by getting the Mango update to all existing customers and rolling out awesome new Windows Phones.”
The Samsung Focus S will be powered by a 1.4GHz processor and pack a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, “4G-capable speeds” and both an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 1.3 front-facing one. It will be 8.55 millimeters thick.
The Samsung Focus Flash will also sport a 1.4GHz processor but will come with a smaller 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a 5MP rear-facing camera, and a front-facing camera.
AT&T will also carry the HTC Titan (with a 4.7-inch display) which HTC unveiled earlier this month.
The HTC HD7S, HTC Surround, LG Quantum and Samsung Focus will all be upgraded to Windows Phone 7.5. AT&T promised to be “among the first to offer the Windows Phone Mango update” but gave no details on the deployment timeline.
Specific availability and pricing details were not revealed.
