ASUS was not kidding when it said that it had solved its Eee Pad Transformer tablet supply chain issues. Digitimes sources now report that ASUS is shipping 400,000 Eee Pad Transformers per month. It also expects shipments to climb as high as 500,000 per month in the third quarter.
The news has apparently prompted ASUS to raise its internal tablet shipment goal to as high as 4.5 million for the second half of the year.
Digitimes did not have any further details on its earlier report that ASUS was readying a second Transformer tablet with an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
