Rumours of low Motorola XOOM sales (according to Digitimes sources and others) are apparently causing other manufacturers to reconsider their own tablet launch plans. It also appears that partners are having trouble getting sufficient support from Google to get their products ready. As a result, both ASUS and HTC could delay some tablet launches.
In the case of ASUS, Digitimes sources are reporting that it will delay the Taiwan launch of its Eee Pad Transformer by about two weeks. Could ASUS also be planning launch delays in other regions (and by a longer period of time?)
Meanwhile, HTC has apparently been slow to order touchscreen panels, suggesting that it is scaling back its own expectations. HTC did respond that it had made no changes bo its tablet roadmap but provided no further information.
It looks like Apple’s competition remains in disarray…
