The launch of iOS 5 was shortly followed by some users reporting that battery life did not last as long as expected. Apple’s support forums have seen a growing number of reports but the company did not respond until now. It has now confirmed that there is not one bug but several causing this issue. In a statement to AllThingsD, it said:
“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”
Apple has not provided any temporary workarounds so those affected by the issue will need to keep their fingers crossed that Apple has a fix out quickly. One encouraging sigh: A beta of iOS 5.0.1 is already available to developers.
