Apple last month issued a recall for its first generation iPad nano over battery concerns. While many wondered whether Apple would be replacing the older players with newer models, those hopes were dashed when users first started reporting getting their replacement units. Then reports emerged that other customers were getting newer replacements.
Gadgetorama has now received its replacement unit and it is a 6th generation iPod nano. An accompanying letter also confirms stock issues as the reason for the upgrade: “In some cases due to limited availability of replacement stock of iPod nano (1st generation) Apple may have replaced your iPod with a more recent model of equivalent of better specification.”
The replacement iPod comes with a 90 day warranty.
