Another day, another Apple iPhone 5 rumour. Digitimes is today reporting that Apple’s latest iPhone will come with a dual-LED flash. Among potential suppliers named are Edison Opto, Everlight Electronics, and Lite-On. The rumour goes hand-in-hand with another that suggests that Apple has begun to reduce orders from Philips for Lumileds high-power LED flash products used in the iPhone 4.
Dual-LED flashes, already offered on a number of other higher-end smartphones, help make images brighter and reduce red-eye and shadows.
The Apple iPhone 5 is also rumoured to sport an 8MP camera (up from 5MP on on the iPhone 4).
Launch date rumours for the iPhone 5 currently range from late August to late September or October.
