Rumours that suggest that Apple will not launch the Apple iPhone this summer continue to gather steam. A research note published by Avian Securities is the latest to suggest the launch will take place with a “very late 2011 or more likely a 2012 event.”
Citing a “key component supplier,” the report suggests that Apple will begin production of the iPhone 5 in September. The note does not indicate whether rumoured iOS 5 delays are responsible for the delay.
The report goes on to indicate that Apple is also working on a “lower-spec/lower-priced” iPhone model, a rumour that has been around for some time.
