Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 smartphones may have some exclusive features when they launch in 2012. The devices will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2012 and will include “several new software upgrades, exclusive functions for Nokia phones and software that will not be available for other manufacturers who licence the OS” according to European Nokia sources. It’s not clear what those features could be though.
The Smarthouse.com.au article also suggests that Nokia will have its first Windows Phone 7 devices out by late 2011 and that only its second (and onward) generation devices will have such features.
It was only days ago that Nokia CEO Stephen Elop confirmed that work on WP7 devices had begun. Unlike the Smarthouse.com.au article, he did not sound as sure that Nokia would have first generation WP7 devices out in 2011.
