“Anonymous Chinese sources” have told Taiwan’s Economic Daily News that the upcoming iPhone 5 will be more than just an evolution of the current iPhone 4. The back of the device, the antenna, and the processor are all in line for some changes.
Apple will replace the iPhone 4’s glass back with an aluminum one. The move is in response to complaints of scratching and difficulty painting the glass back. The antenna redesign, likely to address death grip issues, will see the antenna move back internally with the Apple logo on the back becoming part of it. The iPhone 5 is also set to use the new 1GHz dual-core A5 processor recently introduced with the iPad 2.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5 in the June/July time frame assuming that recent delay rumours are as accurate as they were for the iPad 2.
