Windows Phone 7 to launch in Europe in October and in US in November

So far, Microsoft has been coy about exactly when Windows Phone 7 devices would be available, promising only sometime later this year. While there is still nothing official from Microsoft, Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner appears to have narrowed the dates down a bit in a recent presentation and promising that Microsoft is “back in the game.”

According to Turner, Microsoft will launch Windows Phone 7 first in Europe in October and then in North America in November. Considering that the Windows Phone 7 will support English, French, Italian, German and Spanish during initial availability, we have a reasonably good idea of what countries in Europe will be part of that October release.

Interestingly, LG, one of Microsoft’s partners planning WP7 devices, has promised to launch its first Windows Phone 7 smartphone at the end of September. Could we see a Microsoft kick-off in September prior to devices hitting the street in October and November?
