It appears that Microsoft has no plans to offer Windows Phone 7 on tablets. The focus will be strictly on phones, according to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer himself. The confirmation apparently came during a promotion event in Singapore to promote the launch of Office 2010:
Ballmer: We’re focused on putting Windows Phone 7 in phones, no plans for tablets
In light of recent events such as the demise of the Microsoft Courier tablet project and apparent HP cancellation of its Windows 7 Slate, it’s not clear what Microsoft’s strategy is for the tablet market. Will it stay the course with other partners or is it just not yet ready to tip its hand about a Windows Phone 7 tablet?
