WIND Mobile today announced that it had signed up over 100,000 subscribers by early July 2010.
“We’re thrilled to have welcomed over 100,000 customers in our first two quarters,” said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman of Globalive and WIND Mobile. “We will continue to rally for increased wireless choice in Canada. We will continue to expand and grow, and we welcome competition as part of our commitment to offering Canadians the kind of mobile experience they want and deserve.”
Back in September 2008 (before WIND Mobile brand was even born in Canada), Globalive set a goal of signing up 1.5 million customers within three years and a long-term goal of 3.5 million subscribers.
WIND Mobile launched in December 2009 and now operates in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Vancouver. It is scheduled to expand to Victoria, British Columbia, in early 2011.
