As it had announced days ago, WIND Mobile today launched its wireless network in Vancouver and opened its first doors in its fifth Home Zone.
Vancouverites have told us they’re ready for wireless service that’s free of contracts, limits, system access fees, high prices, poor service and legacy technology… They’re ready for WIND.
During the media event for the launch, WIND Mobile confirmed that it is planning to offer Android phones in the future. There are no details on which devices or when we could see them though. They also confirmed that they will not offer data plans for the Apple iPad given that it does not support AWS.
If you want to get sign up with WIND in Vancouver, you can visit one of its ten Vancouver stores, including several Blockbusters that will have WIND kiosks.
