WIND Mobile this week launched three new handsets: the BlackBerry Curve 3G, the LG dLite and the Huawei U3200.
First up is the BlackBerry Curve 3G selling for CA$290. While it still comes with BlackBerry OS 5, it is BlackBerry 6 ready.
The LG dLite is a clamshell powered by LG’s own mobile operating system. It comes with quad-band GSM and AWS connectivity, a 2.8-inch display, A-GPS, Bluetooth, support for microSD cards up to 16GB, and a 2MP camera. It also features a set of customizable LED emoticons and unique LED lights. It currently sells for CA$140 after a CA$20 instant rebate.
The Huawei U3200 is an affordable keypad slider powered by the Qualcomm BREW 4.0 operating system. It comes with quad-band GSM and AWS connectivity, a 2.2-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth, support for microSD cards up to 8GB, and a 3.2MP camera. It sells for CA$90.
With the recently announced WINDTab, customers can further reduce the purchase price by up to CA$150, making both the LG dLite and Huawei U3200 essentially free. Basically, a 10 percent credit (based on your monthly bill) is applied to your WINDTab balance every month. For example, if your monthly bill is CA$50, CA$5 will be credited to your WINDTab balance that month.
