WIND Mobile expects 200,000 subscribers by end of year

WIND Mobile

WIND Mobile will celebrate the first birthday of their network on December 16th. It was only a year ago that WIND Mobile went live in Toronto (and Calgary a few days later).

In an interview with The Globe and Mail, Anthony Lacavera, WIND Mobile’s chairman, said that he expects his company to top 200,000 subscribers by the end of the year. In November, WIND Mobile had just under 140,000 subscribers. WIND Mobile has set the goal to sign up 1.5 million customers within three years.

2011 should be another interesting year for WIND Mobile. The company expects to launch new services bundles to allow them to better compete with the incumbents. Among the new services to be offered will be wired and wireless Internet services as well as an IP TV service.
