Chris Robbins, WIND Mobile’s Chief Customer Officer, announced yesterday that he was leaving the young wireless carrier after 18 months on the job.
While building the company has been a great adventure so far, there is still much to do. So, what’s next? We’re continuing to learn, grow and expand our coverage and services. All good. And as we move into a very ambitious growth mode, we’re making some other shifts internally. Those shifts, combined with my desire to develop wireless & technology opportunities globally, mean that I’m leaving WIND.
Industry analysts suggest that the move could be a sign that WIND Mobile has failed to meet its subscription targets. While WIND has not formally announced subscription numbers, WIND’s chairman Anthony Lacavera previously indicated that WIND had topped 10,000 subscriptions since going live. WIND Mobile has also experienced a number of network issues including dropped calls, network dead spots and spotty service.
It’s not clear whether someone new will step into the role of Chief Customer Officer or if the position will be phased out in favour of something different.
