TELUS has clarified the terms of the iPad data plan it announced on Saturday by adding a 5GB cap. When first announced, TELUS’ only iPad plan offered 500MB for CA$20 with additional data to be charged at CA$0.05 per MB up to a maximum of $30.
With no mention of any cap, TELUS was essentially offering an unlimited data plan for CA$50 per month. TELUS has now clarified the terms of the plan and added that “maximum allowed data usage per month will be 5GB.”
The TELUS plan has lost much of its appeal with the imposing of the cap but, unlike the Bell and Rogers plans, it is available post paid (with a CA$35 activation fee) and allows for overage. It also offers an additional 250MB for CA$5 when compared to the cheaper Bell and Rogers data plans (250MB per month for CA$15)
