A screenshot of an alleged Sprint internal document obtained by Phandroid.com suggests that the carrier could begin to push out the promised Google Android 2.1 update for the HTC Hero on April 9th. The document mentions a “maintenance release tentatively scheduled for 4/9/10” but the source indicates that it will be more than that.
To date, Sprint has only promised that the update would be available sometime in “early 2Q10”.
There is no word yet on how Sprint will provide the update: OTA, via PC, or possibly even as an in-store upgrade.
