Engadget has learned that Samsung is working on a new flagship Android device for the first half of 2011. Among the specifications proposed are Android Gingerbread, a 1.2GHz processor, HSPA connectivity, a 4.3- or 4.5-inch “sAMOLED2” (Super AMOLED 2?) WVGA display, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, DNLA, 16GB of onboard memory, and an 8MP camera with LED flash and capable of 1080p video capture.
The leaked slides also suggest a February 2011 release date (coinciding with MWC perhaps?).
While Engadget is confident that the leaked slides are from Samsung, it seems odd that one features not an image of the upcoming device but a years-old Apiotek SkyPhone handset. Placeholder image or a clue that this is fake? Time will tell…
