Samsung has revealed that it will unveil its first smartphone powered by its new bada mobile operating system at MWC. It also confirmed that its TouchWiz user interface will be part of bada.
This first Samsung bada smartphone could be out as early April or May although a July launch in Korea appears to be more likely. Rumours suggest that it could be the Samsung S8200, a device similar to the Galaxy 2 but running bada instead of Android.
Samsung is apparently getting favourable feedback from mobile carriers on bada, according to Kim Hyung-do, a vice president for strategic planning at Samsung.
Samsung has not decided how many bada smartphones it will release this year. It will also offer both Google Android and Microsoft Windows Mobile devices but Symbian-powered devices do not appear to be in the cards.
