Korean newspaper The Korean Herald is reporting that Samsung sold 600,000 Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets in the first month that it has been available. Samsung reports strong demand that has outstripped supply in many markets. It expects to sell over 1 million units by the end of the year.
While Samsung may be satisfied with sales, it appears that it has a way to go to pose a serious challenge to Apple and its iPad. In Korea, Samsung sold 30,000 Tabs through through SK Telecom since its November 14th launch. Meanwhile, the iPad, scheduled to go on sale there at the end of November, has already racked up some 40,000 pre-orders.
Samsung first launched the Galaxy Tab in Italy but has since expanded its availability to over 30 countries (including Canada where it is available from both Bell Mobility and Rogers Wireless).
