Rumour: HTC Desire headed to AT&T and HTC Legend to Sprint

HTC Desire

BGR is reporting that one of their sources close to HTC has revealed that at least two new smartphones unveiled by HTC during last week’s Mobile World Congress are headed to the United States.

AT&T appears set to offer the HTC Desire which is very similar to the Google Nexus One (designed with HTC). The AT&T version of the HTC Desire may undergo some small cosmetic changes, such as finish or colour changes to the casing, but should otherwise be the same. A release date sometime between May and June is expected.

Meanwhile, Sprint could be picking up the HTC Legend, possibly rebranding it as the HTC Hero2. Again, cosmetic changes are expected (as Sprint did with the original HTC Hero). There is no word on when Sprint could unveil it though at this point.

The HTC Legend also appears to have picked up its FCC approval (as the PB76100), giving some credence to the rumour.
