After teasing us for a while, Rogers Wireless today revealed what is Social View.
Social View collects each one of your friends’ social network updates like pictures, text messages, Facebook and Twitter updates and puts them all in one place. It means you can use your phone’s contact list to call or text as always, but also send a Facebook or Twitter message, or comment on a friend’s status.
It’s chronological. It’s real time. No multiple logins and multiple apps. No hassles. Everything together with one-touch access.
To go with Social View, Rogers has designated a number of smartphones as Social View smartphones. Currently, these include the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, the LG Eve, and the HTC Magic+. The Motorola Quench and Acer Liquid e will soon be joining these as well.
Rogers Wireless also unveiled a new plan called “Unlimited Social Addict Plan” which offers 200 voice minutes, unlimited evening and weekends, Unlimited Social Networking (ie, access to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Linkedin and other social sites does not count against your data usage), unlimited messaging and 500 MB data for CA$50 per month.
