The saga of the Rogers launch date for the Samsung Captivate is at an end. Rogers today began shipping devices to retail stores in preparation for an October 25th launch. Due to “a worldwide shortage in Super AMOLED technology screens,” Rogers will only have limited supplies available and supplies will remain limited over the next few weeks.
Pre-orders will continue until October 24th with the promotional price of CA$149.99 with select three-year term voice and data plans in effect. New customers who opt to buy their Samsung Captivate on the 25th will find that the price will have gone up to CA$179.99. Existing Rogers customers (who meet hardware upgrade eligibility requirements) will see the same price jump starting on November 2nd.
