Rogers Social View revealed?

AndroidGuys.com may have found out exactly what Rogers’ upcoming Social View is all about. The suggestion (an application to bring together social network information) I proposed earlier this week may not be far off the mark. According to an allegedly official description, Social View is a built-in feature of these exclusive smartphones that brings together, in real-time, your contacts’ updates from popular social networks like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. It also includes a display of recent traditional communications such as texts, calls and instant messages from your contacts. Right in the contact list!

Rather than Social View being a new Rogers application, it appears that Rogers will use the term Social View to describe various phones’s ability to aggregate social network information. For example, Timescape does that on the recently launched Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and HTC Sense offers a similar feature on HTC devices. Rogers is also planning to extend Social View to non-Android devices later.

Rogers also appears set to offer three new social networking plans for specific devices. The three, the “Unlimited Social Addict Plan”, the “Unlimited Socialite Plan” and the “Unlimited Social Master Plan” will focus on different devices.
