HTC Dream

According to MobileSyrup.com, Rogers Wireless has stopped all sales of the HTC Dream due to an issue where 911 calls may not complete when GPS is enabled. Rogers is also notifying all its HTC Dream users and asking them to disable GPS until a fix is released.

“Protecting our customers’ safety is our top priority and we communicated with our customers as soon as we were made aware of the issue. We have texted all affected customers and we have immediately requested that the device be taken off the shelf until HTC implements its upgrade.”

To turn off GPS on your HTC Dream:

  1. Hit the Menu button
  2. Choose Settings
  3. Choose Location
  4. Uncheck Enable GPS Satellite

HTC is expediting development of a software fix for this issue.
