Public Mobile

Public Mobile announced today that it has opened 25 stores ahead of its network launch. There are 15 stores in Toronto and 10 in Montreal. By mid-May, it expects to have twice as many locations open.

It is also planning to launch with four phones: The ZTE C78 (CA$70) which we have known about for a while, the Kyocera Tomo flip (CA$110), the Samsung R312 flip (CA$125), and the Kyocera G2GO QWERTY slider (CA$180).

The single plan offers unlimited talk and text for CA$40 per month. Add-ons include:

  • Voicemail and call display: CA$5 per month
  • Unlimited Canadian and U.S. long distance: CA$10 per month

Between now and the expected wireless service launch, Public Mobile is offering free unlimited Canadian long distance calling to those who sign up.

Public Mobile expects to launch its wireless network in mid-May.
