Digitimes is reporting that Apple has placed an order with Pegatron for the manufacture of a CDMA version of its iPhone. Annual shipments could reach as high as 10 million units
Past rumours have suggested that Verizon could be the second US carrier to offer the iPhone. But Apple could also be looking to partner with CDMA carriers elsewhere in the world (like China Telecom).
Foxconn, which already manufactures the iPhone 3GS and the iPad, is expected to manufacture the GSM version of the fourth-generation iPhone.
