Palm may be about to be swallowed up by HP but it is still working on new devices and a new version of its webOS mobile operating system. A Palm representative confirmed the obvious during a developers webinar hosted by AT&T:
“I’m not allowed to talk about future roadmaps, especially because we’re in the process of being acquired by HP, so I can’t say. But yes we have a road map. We are working on future devices. And [a] new version of the OS. So I think, you’re going to find the next year very exciting.”
Could one of the devices on that roadmap be the rumoured HP Hurricane webOS tablet?
It’s not much to go on but it’s good news at least to know that Palm is continuing with its software and hardware development. With HP planning to significantly boost R&D, the next year could be an interesting one for webOS products (which could also include other types of devices such as printers).
